License & Uses

This License & Uses policy explains how you may use the content available on mcug.cloud (the "Website") and through the Multi Cloud User Group (MCUG) ("MCUG"), including the Blog, Library, Webinar Recordings, Media, event presentations and the MCUG name and logo. It forms part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service.

1. Ownership of Content

  • Website content: the Website design, text, graphics, MCUG name and logo are owned by MCUG or its licensors.
  • Speaker content: presentations, slides, demos and recordings remain the intellectual property of the individual speakers or their employers, who grant MCUG permission to share them with the community.
  • Member contributions: blog articles, whitepapers, case studies and forum posts remain the property of their authors, who grant MCUG a licence as described in our Terms of Service.
  • Third-party marks: AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle, Salesforce, ServiceNow, SAP, Snowflake and other product names and logos are trademarks of their respective owners. Their appearance on the Website does not imply sponsorship or endorsement.

2. Personal, Non-Commercial Licence

Subject to your compliance with these terms and our Terms of Service, MCUG grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to:

  • View and read public Website content, including blog posts and event information.
  • Access and stream Member Zone content (Library, Webinar Recordings and Media) while you hold an active member account.
  • Download and keep copies of presentations and whitepapers where a download option is provided, for your own learning and internal reference.
  • Share content within your own organisation for internal knowledge-sharing and training, provided that MCUG and the original author are credited.

3. Sharing and Attribution

You are welcome to share links to public Website pages and blog posts on social media and in your own publications. When quoting or referencing MCUG content, please:

  • Credit the original author or speaker and "Multi Cloud User Group (MCUG)".
  • Include a link back to the source page on https://mcug.cloud.
  • Keep short excerpts in their original context and avoid altering their meaning.

4. Restricted Uses

Unless you have prior written permission from MCUG (and, where applicable, the original author), you may not:

  • Republish, sell, rent, sublicense or commercially exploit any Website or Member Zone content.
  • Re-upload webinar recordings or event videos to YouTube, other video platforms, or public file-sharing services.
  • Share your member login so that non-members can access the Member Zone.
  • Remove or modify copyright notices, speaker names or MCUG branding from any material.
  • Use MCUG content to train commercial machine-learning or AI models, or collect it by automated scraping.
  • Present MCUG content as your own work or use it in a way that suggests MCUG endorses you, your company or your products.

5. Use of the MCUG Name and Logo

The MCUG name and logo may be used by members, chapter leads, speakers and sponsors only in connection with officially recognised MCUG events and communications, and in line with any brand guidance we provide. Any other use, including on merchandise, commercial marketing or independent events, requires prior written approval. Send requests to [email protected].

6. Speaker and Contributor Licence

By presenting at an MCUG event or submitting content to the Website, you confirm that you have the right to share the material and grant MCUG a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to record, host, publish, distribute and promote it on the Website, in the Member Zone and on MCUG social media channels. You remain the owner of your content and may ask us to remove it at any time by contacting us; removal from third-party platforms or copies already shared may not be possible.

7. Open-Source Code and Samples

Code samples, scripts or templates shared in presentations or blog posts are provided "as is" for educational purposes. Unless a specific open-source licence is stated alongside the code, you may use and adapt it in your own projects at your own risk. MCUG and the authors accept no liability for its use in production environments.

8. Reporting Infringement

If you believe any content on the Website infringes your copyright or other rights, please email [email protected] with details of the content, its location on the Website, and proof of your ownership. We will review the request and, where appropriate, remove or disable access to the content promptly.

9. Termination of Licence

Any licence granted under this policy ends automatically if you breach these terms or our Terms of Service, or when your membership ends (for Member Zone content). On termination you must stop using, and delete any downloaded copies of, restricted content.
